I just want to live in a world where Clone Wars and Rebels are as familiar to casual fans at the film saga. I'm tired of not having anyone in my everyday life to discuss those shows with.

So to be a jedi you have to be trained by a jedi, right? So someone who is force strong like Rey would technically not be a jedi? So if Luke doesn't train her, dies off as the "Last Jedi" then what? Just a bunch of force strong people running around with no one to train them?

At some point, I think so. It is present in the books of other Jedi, Ahsoka being the one that comes to mind for me. But I don't necessarily think that is a "final step". Just a step that has to happen at some point.tragabigzanda wrote:Also, when Luke constructs his own lightsaber between ESB and ROJ, Vader reasons that "Your training is complete." Luke has his green lightsaber though. Green>blue.tragabigzanda wrote:So then perhaps Luke will take his lightsaber back from Rey, start to train her, and then she'll build her own.E.H. Actually, the color doesn't matter unless it is red. The crystals know if you are dark side.Monkey_Driven wrote:Luke has his green lightsaber though. Re: Star Wars: Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (2017)
The micro series Clone Wars had a cool one where lightsabers were built. It was cool to see, and would be neat to get Rey putting one together with the kyber crystal. R1 had a lot of kyber crystal talk. Seeing one used to construct a lightsaber for good would be a nice balance to how in contrast it was used to build the DS laser.E.H. Re: Star Wars: Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (2017)
There's a cool backstory in the Ahsoka book about light saber creation and her white ones, specifically. Kind of gives some insight as to how the crystals work.darth_vedder wrote:The micro series Clone Wars had a cool one where lightsabers were built. Re: Star Wars: Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (2017)
I think it would be pretty cool if Luke remains 'The Last Jedi.' I'd love to see the religion die out and Rey and/or Ren (who we know is NOT a Sith) can begin a new chapter in the conflict. Jedi and Sith can become old religions. Maybe replaced by something better or worse, but still. The end of a long religion. That could be really fucking great.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (2017)
The same way there is more than Christianity in the real world, I'd love to see Star Wars explore what it means to have The Force without the one (two if you count The Sith) religion attached to it. What does it mean to be a Force wielder without the Jedi? That could be so fucking cool. And it would cement Luke's place for all time.
I doubt they'll go that direction but I think it could be so fucking cool.
