Different circumstances than trump but trump might just get enough of a boost to carry him over the line given the election is exactly one month away today.

I do think it's possible Trump's case is more serious than has been let on. It progressed quickly to having been sent to Walter Reed, which by itself could have been out of precaution. But the president has had a lot drugs, one in particular that is still experimental, for someone who has "mild" symptoms.
There's been several other high ranking officials and senators who've since come forward with positive tests. Statistically speaking one or two of them will progress to a severe case. And of course they will all have access to excellent medical care, something that is out of reach for a lot of average joes.
