I know! I was feeling bad for thinking it was real because of the metaphors.theplatypus wrote:It's gotten to the point where I took credit for faking the Rolling Stone interview and people believed mestupidmop wrote: I still expect a lot of "its like a wave you know" though lol.

I think those interviews would work much better if it were done more articulately. If Trent Reznor talked about the subject matter of "efficiency" and working with corporations, he'd explain it in a more palatable and analytical way. He'd win you over with his answer, b/c he does it so intelligently. When PJ does it, you're left puzzled.harmless wrote:I would rather take ocean metaphors than corporate business ones. They were dark days in PJ land when they were talking about "efficiency", and choosing between corporations to represent them as part of an ethical business model. I was fast going off PJ at that point, not so much with ocean references.

I totally agree. Puzzled, but also deeply depressed that they've stopped caring about music and only care about distribution methods. A more articulate band could get around that, but for PJ, I just ask that they shut up about business and carry on talking about rocking out; at least it's (mostly) charming and endearing. The one or two more articulate members can throw other stuff in if they want, but that's because they don't overdo it. I think I was very worried, when Brendan O'Brien was taking over all those listening parties and interviews to begin with, that this whole line of thinking would be continued during Lighting Bolt. But I'm glad that so far, going by evidence from the band, it seems more casual than that, which is nice. I think BoB is just a doofus.Tuolumne wrote:I think those interviews would work much better if it were done more articulately. I wonder if they aren't comfortable with discussing their music especially lyrics as far as Ed is concerned. I'd be very interested to find some of that in earlier examples, because I only really became very interested in following their media representation just before 2006. After watching SVT I started wondering how many of my frustrations could be traced back a long way.Mine wrote:I wonder if they aren't comfortable with discussing their music especially lyrics as far as Ed is concerned. Brendan O'Brien would disagree with that.guitar_davey wrote:I wonder if they aren't comfortable with discussing their music especially lyrics as far as Ed is concerned. You don't figure maybe they just prefer to, y'know, let the music speak for itself?
Love this, great pic!Thejambi wrote:
