Darren Puppa and Grant Fuhr, yeah?

Honestly, Don Edwards does belong in the conversation, but any combo of Hasek/Miller is a layup

I don't know much about Edwards.

Considering Hasek is my favorite goalie of all time and Miller is probably in the top 5 that is a sexy 1-2. Dom in his prime was just ridiculous.

I remember going to see the Blackhawks play the Penguins late in the 1992 season, and people being all pissed cause it was one of the few games Hasek started instead of Belfour. It seemed crazy thinking about it a few years later that we were all watching one of the very best goalies of his generation that night.

Hasek's career is crazy. In his first season with Buffalo in 1992-93 he played a career-high 28 games with an .896 SV% and a 3.15 GAA. From there, he lead the lead in SV% the next six years, won two Harts and six of the next eight Vezinas. He doesn't have the longevity (mainly because of a late start to his career) or the big win totals of some of the other greats of his generation, but I think Hasek's mid-late '90s was the most dominant stretch of hockey any goalie has ever played.

Hasek is my all time favorite goalie. He was so good and just enjoyable to watch.

It's hard to compare such different eras but early to mid 50's Sawchuck was probably just as good if not better. But i would have no problem givin gthe nod to Hasek.
There's the dog. You can't fake that stuff. Confess with your mouth.

Yeah, Sawchuk is the one guy who makes me stop and reconsider sometimes, but I think I would go with Hasek.

I always thought of late-'90s Hasek as being the best, but I just looked at his '93-94 season, and holy shit - it was still a pretty high offensive era and a few years before offensive fell off a cliff, and Hasek had a 1.95 GAA. Brodeur was next at 2.40. That's a huge gap.

Yes! But we still need an even number of participants and we have nine right now. I'll do a Nordiques/Avalanche team, if that's ok with everyone. That'll make ten, and if there are two more people willing to take on a second team, 12 would probably be ideal. Again, other than creating the roster, there should be very little in-season management.

Everyone get your teams set up on WhatIf and post your rosters here.

Or should we just make a new thread?

Anyone outside of the '80s on that team? Maybe Ryan Smyth on the 4th line?

A couple. It does not like the 80s goalies. So I have them carrying 3 in case Fuhr stinks.

I was considering ducking out and would only do so if it wouldn't hurt the league, so since it would give you an even 8.. OUT

Definitely. I thought the Blues would have a nice team, too.
