When Kit Harington showed up to Wimbledon in the same hairstyle as his Game of Thrones character, it started up the speculation that maybe Jon Snow will be resurrected next season. Or maybe he’ll be in a flashback. Or maybe Harington likes his hair that way. No one knows for sure, but most seem to be taking this as confirmation that we’ll have more Jon next season.

So when the hell is book 6 coming out? Also, if I just pick it up from there is it ok? I don't feel like reading the other 5 books, but was thinking of reading the new one if/when it's ever released.

Nobody, not even Martin, knows when book 6 is coming. You could pick it up and start there, but there are definitely some things that wouldn't make sense to you as they don't appear to have happened on the show or are in a severely altered form. Though this is coming from someone who has only watched a couple episodes, and read about most of the other ones. Someone who has watched the whole show and read the books can probably concur with me a little better.

I'd suggest reading books 4 and 5--there are enough differences between them anf the show that you'll be lost without them. There's no release date for book 6, not even any solid rumors. You'll probably have enough time to start with book 1 and read them all.
