I can't imagine many here on RM would like this movie. But I loved it. It's so flawed and so close to being something I shouldn't like. But I loved it. I was moved and charmed thoroughly. Something about Irish storytelling just works on me. Also, it made me miss theatre in a bad way.

The performances are lovely. Walken stabs you in the guy without a word in one specific scene. Emily Blunt is such a treasure. Even Jon Hamm delivers in a surprising way.

It's a weird film (I'm sure the play is better). It's awkward. It's magical and emotional in only the way the Irish know how to capture. It shouldn't work but it just does. Pure story. I loved it.
I loved it! It was really weird, and I loved every second

Just watched Knives Out and Palm Springs. Both great for very different reasons.

The Honest Thief. I was entertained, but you really need to switch your brain off for a bit

Sound of Metal.

Loved it. Would have been my favorite movie of the past year but my wife's family kept pausing it so we didn't finish it until 2021.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

The one where the Thomas Kincaid painting hangs.

Yikes. That's arguably the worst one!

Mank was good. I'd probably appreciate it more on multiple viewings, but I probably won't.

I thought the crashed birthday party sequence was BRILLIANT, one of the best scenes in any movie I've seen in recent memory. I liked what it was trying to do overall and there were some other good bits, but it felt a little unfinished and the pacing was uneven--the first twenty minutes were a mess. But I'll sit with it for a bit and see how I feel.
