God. Just that screen shot alone is enough to turn me off.

I love their last record. It’s great. But it’s veey throwback and gimmicky so I may not be surprised if the new one is as gimmicky yet in a new form. They may not have an identity of their own.

I listened.

I don't actually hate it. The song is fine. But it's weird given their previous music that I've heard. But if this was under a name other than Houndmouth, I wouldn't dislike it.

This new song is pretty far away from what's on LNL. It's not, in and of itself, a bad song, per se. But it feels weird and unearned coming from what little I know about Houndmouth.

I forget how much our musical tastes differ. I'm not sure why I always think we like the same stuff. Probably because I just like you so much.
