Why do they play Just Breathe at every damn show I go to?

seems like an average show. which for wrigley is a win, given their track record of disaster at this dump

I went to the show on 8/22/16 and thought it was great. From the setlist I'm not regretting not dropping the cash on this one.

Now "Breath" would have been cool. That's a bright spot in any setlist, provided Ed doesn't botch the words.

The "Footsteps" > "State" > "Breath" sequence does have a nice "Ten"-era B-sides theme to it.

this sounds like ass
it's as though Matt Cameron deliberately sells himself short when he plays with PJ
and now there is no soundgarden for him to play with on the side!
talented / complex / odd-time / controlled tempo Matt will be lost forever

Killer RVM. Whole crowd singing along sounded pretty awesome.

Post Just Breathe, that encore was phenomenal. Among the best I’ve seen.

Aw, I love the drum solo.

i just wish Matt would slow the F down with PJ
i know i am a broken record on this issue
he could add so much balls to their catalogue if he channeled the dragon
instead he channels punky brewster

There was definitely an opportunity to remake the band in response to Matt joining, Binaural being a good starting point; a more cerebral, angular version of the band.
Unfortunately, it feels like they either got spooked by the idea of straying too far from their past, or simply lost the drive to commit to new and different Pearl Jam, and we ended up with the last few records instead.

they became soft when the internet monies started rolling in
funny though bc Ed is always BJ-ing Matt C on stage for being so great yet a metronome turned up way fast can accomplish the same things for contemporary PJ
