Weird that it's against Seattle. Everyone has assumed for about a month or so that it would be against Cleveland, since both team stores started selling 1976 throwbacks on the same day with the same description (that they were to be worn on the field for a future game).

The home team is responsible for outfitting the road team if they want them to wear throwbacks. In theory I'd think they'd want to outfit the Mariners in their inaugural gear from 1977, since they're apparently making modifications to USCF that night to make it feel more 70s, and since the 1977 White Sox are one of the most beloved White Sox team of the post-Go Go Sox era. But they keep making it a point to refer to the throwbacks as being 1976, which seems intentional (I mean, they always refer to the beach blanket uniforms as the 1983 jerseys even though they debuted in 1982, so it's not just a case of them always referring to them by their debut date). It'll suck if the Mariners just wear their current jerseys.

I did not know that the home team is responsible for outfitting the road team when throwbacks are worn. That would explain the Red Sox "negro leagues" throwbacks in Seattle earlier this year.

Tigers looked good in these throwbacks against the Cubs the other day.

This is one of many contexts under which you can use the words "Mariners" and "suck" in the same sentence.

This is what the Mariners should be wearing for that game.

Picking up on the NFL thread, I too really like the green / yellow (gold) look.

Although I hate Notre Dame, I really like this uniform:
