Re: God Is In The Radio / The Queens Of The Stone Age Thread
Never cared much for Queens of the Stone Age. I bought Like Clockwork on a whim last week and I must say it is fantastic. I may dig deeper into these guys after all.

Re: God Is In The Radio / The Queens Of The Stone Age Thread
I saw the Nick Oliveri cameo when he came onstage and did 'Millionaire' and man it really made me miss that era. There was a chaos and unpredictability and danger he brought to the mix that they just don't have without him. They made LtP without him and that's one of my Queens fav, but Era Vulgaris and LC, while strong (as I think any Queens effort would be) I think they're missing that right now. I'm seeing them soon at the Aragon, can't wait ... anyone know who's opening those shows up?

They are rumored to play with Mark Lanegan in SA, but i think right now they are touring with Warpaint.

Queens of the Stone Age
Rated R
Songs for the Deaf
Lullabies to Paralyze
For my money, their first LP remains their best by a country mile; they've never come close to producing something as consistent again.
I don't think either Era Vulgaris or Like Clockwork are very enjoyable, hence their omission. Lullabies at least has a handful of alright songs.

Need to ease in a bit, Rated R doesn't come close to ...Like Clockwork yet.

Their discography is so consistent that everyone ranks them differently. There's doenst seem to be a #1 record where everybody agrees upon.
