"But first...some newww music" Let's not overthink it, it's PJ, its the new single, it's DOTC.

Based on this article, I don't think the Shazam database is user generated:
mikejasond wrote:Im excited to hear something new from them as well - but sometimes I think that people on this board only listen to Pearl Jam and so as long as something is different and occupies a different space it is lauded as amazing, whether or not it's a good song in the context of all music (see praise for Binaural and Riot Act as top tier Pearl Jam albums)
You and stip been hanging out?
Conversely I think sometimes people here listen to too much other music and place unrealistic expectations on Pearl Jam to create something totally outside their wheelhouse. Or that some people have sort of grown in a different direction from the band and can be overly critical for that reason. It’s not a judgment on the people here, just more that the expectations don’t always line up. I want something different because doing the same thing again didn’t work as well as it could have.
As far as tossing in Binaural and Riot Act, they are great albums. I would place at least 3 songs in my top ten, not because they are different but because they are GREAT effing songs! (Insignificance, Nothing As It Seems, Parting Ways), but I love everything on that album on the strength of them writing amazing stuff in the context of trying new and interesting textures. I love it on its own virtue and not juxtaposed against Vs. or Ten which are also great albums in their own right.
I just think....after listening to the first Pearl Jam albums over and over, Riot Act sounds different and interesting. If Pearl Jam isn’t famous and they make Riot Act it’s very unlikely that most people are going to be that impressed or that this board would exist in the first place.

Which poster are you calling Jesus?
Or is it Jesus signing the post such that Jesus knows it is the actual song?

couldn't that little lick just be played on guitar?
i'm open to synths, but if they're going to use them just because it's the cool thing to do, that would be worrisome.
