I remember hearing Black Smoke Rising a few years ago and actually thinking it was "ok"...but holy shit i've never actually seen the perform...dafuq is up with that lead singer in general? He looked scared shitless up there.

Following the breath campaign up until I saw them in Jersey and then the second night at MSG knowing they hadn't played it yet was fucking amazing when Eddie said "fuck you we're gonna play it" the place went nuts!

Yea but perhaps jeff was the asshole? I found it interesting that he stated in this interview that him dealing with it during that period was by not talking to them and escaping to montana.

It seems from other stories than Jeff had a very big ego around that time. I remember the fight with Stone over the riff of Brother and him almost quitting over that.

If it’s the only time it has ever happened with the band, and Jeff says he was barely talking to the band to get some distance for himself, it was almost certainly his fault.
