I listened to one Destroyer song, do they all sound like they're being sung by the baby from Family Guy?

Ive only listened to the singles so far. Will grab the vinyl soon enough. So far I think this could be top of the list for 2022

nice! I liked the singles, my least favourite is "Happy Birthday..." but "Beautiful James" is lovely

that's fair; I find it a little underwritten lyrically; it's definitely not bad though, none of these songs are

also I love that the album is awash with synths, it suits Placebo

Loved the new Destroyer except for "Tintoretto, It's For You" which I found extremely annoying!

Until June 1, Constellation has a discounted bundle on their next three albums that all have a loose affiliation as being rooted in various threads of electronic music. While the three albums have have various release dates in May and June, picking up the bundle nets one the opportunity to get each one shortly ahead of release date in a digital format, or all three at once in late April with physical versions.

First up is Familiar Science the fourth album (third for Constellation) by Jay Crocker's Joyfultalk project. This newest outing sees the project merging Crocker's more recent solitary excursions in rural Nova Scotia with his prior life in Calgary as an active band and session musician. Several musical collaborators sent Crocker improvised material to slice and splice with parts from the archival library of his own musical dabblings and a few choice samplings, all stewed together with new guitar and wordless vocal parts played by Crocker himself. The end result is a strange, rhythmically bustling electro-jazz.

Gap/Void is the debut collaboration of Automatisme (aka William Jourdain, a prolific electronic producer who has released a couple albums with Constellation in the past) and Stefan Paulus (a Swiss multimedia artist whose audio work is mostly involved with field recordings). The material began as field recordings captured by Paulus on various mountaineering trips that he layered together in dense ambient noise pieces and then sent to Jourdain. In Jourdain's hands, the raw material was sculpted into erratic rhythmic minimal dub/techno tracks. The resulting album has two parts, echoing its title; the first five tracks on the CD (and the entire LP) are the fully processed collaborative pieces, while the following five (on a download card with the LP) present the original pieces that Paulus formed.

Finally, T. Gowdy follows up his 2020 album Therapy with Colour with a new work, Miracles. The base material for the new album was conceived in 2018 as part of an audio/visual performance piece about surveillance. Throughout the pandemic, Gowdy dove back into this material, reshaping it with experiments in a multitude of new textural and rhythmic techniques. The result is Gowdy's trademark meditative IDM style shot through with a warmer, grittier feeling that supplants his older glossier sound without sacrificing his keen ear for detail.

As usual, once can go to Bandcamp to listen to previews of the new albums and pick them up if so inclined:

The second half of "June" is some of his best work. Parrot weather.
