I think a lot of the frustration with the lack of transparency should be taken with the current RM climate in consideration. Call it paranoia or whatever, but the fact that an entire forum, the most active forum no less, got deleted with zero transparency rubs lot of regulars here the wrong way.

This isn't about being mad that a silly porn quote thread got deleted, really. It's just an attempt at a dialog using the latest two examples of questionable modding.

Don't you think the reason people cant accept that answer has a little bit to do with numerous other instances of over-modding in the past, a lot of which is now at the risk of being memory-holed due to said forum deletion?

If you are less conspiracy theory minded but still concerned, don't you think there's just a little bit of righteous anger about just losing a decade long part of the board's essence, just like that?

I think that's the context here, and the reason this conversation should happen from time to time.
