Why do you hate gay people

I consider myself a nihilist. But even I'm kinda over the "everything you care about is gone, everyone you love will die a horrible death, nothing means anything" thing this show is doing. If the whole point is we all die terrible deaths and must do terrible things, why keep watching?
Again, I will keep watching.
I mean, sure. If that's where we're going, I'm all in. But listening to the creators talk about the show, I'm just a little concerned that they aren't gonna pull that off. But, again, that's why I'll keep watching. I want them to get me there.Bi_3 wrote:epilogue wrote:I like this show and I'll keep watching it. But it has a lot of flaws. What if it was that in the face of unimaginable suffering that remembering your humanity means everything?
Exactly what I’m talking about. Love can make people do some fucked up, very self-centered bullshit. It can blind us to the bigger pictureepilogue wrote:I think my favorite observation about the show so far has been "it's a love story, but that's not necessarily a good thing."

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I think she's doing fine. Could be her weird face that's putting people off thoughtragabigzanda wrote:The scene that most captures what this story is about is Joel on his side, laughing at Ellie’s diarrhea joke, despite all the sadness, despite his best efforts at keeping her at an emotional distance.
I’ve played the game so I know there’s ample material here for them to deliver on this theme; I also know the most successful moments in the game were often the most quiet, which is understandably lost somewhat in the transition to event television.
I think this show will deliver. I think Bella Ramsey is knocking it out of the park and don’t understand the criticisms she’s received. But I gather she’s not connecting for some viewers, so maybe that’s why some aren’t feeling the emotional impact.

I'm not out there looking for LoU content, but I haven't seen any Bella criticisms. I'm sure they are out there. But I haven't seen any.tragabigzanda wrote:The scene that most captures what this story is about is Joel on his side, laughing at Ellie’s diarrhea joke, despite all the sadness, despite his best efforts at keeping her at an emotional distance.

I just figured the monster was just some big bad from the game and they included it because of that. Really, is no less believable than a sentient fungus that infects people and takes over the world.epilogue wrote:I like this show and I'll keep watching it. But it has a lot of flaws. Sam and Henry moved me more than Bill and Frank. That's probably why I'm so upsetwease wrote:I didn’t think any pair on the show could move me like Bill and Frank did, but goddamn if Ellie and Sam didn’t show me I was wrong.
