A Complete Unknown had its moments, and a great performance by Chalamet. However, the movie felt fairly shallow, and struggled to tell the story in an engaging way.
Conclave had everything it needed to be a great movie, the actors, the setting, the plot, the production, but in the end, I think the writing let the movie down a bit. Still a really good movie, just a weak ending.
I loved Anora, and Mikey Madison was incredible. Think its public rating (imdb/letterboxd) is too low. The movie manages to always move the story ahead convincingly, and within reason for the characters and the situation they are. It’s thrilling, funny, action-filled, image-rich, and quite unique. Easily a top ten movie from 2024 for me. I have to think a little more about its final place.
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is another very solid movie in the franchise. Not quite a top ten movie of the year (more like top 50), but a fantastic production, and a very entertaining movie.
Dune: Part Two was the final movie on my list from 2024, and I’ve now seen an equal number of movies from each of 2022, 2023 and 2024, and I have not yet seen a single movie or series from 2025.
As for Dune: Part Two, it was excellent. Outstanding movie making in a vast range of categories.

There are still a few I'm really excited to see but here's my first swipe at 2025:
1. Hedda
2. Sinners
3. Die My Love
4. The Testament of Ann Lee
5. Sentimental Value
6. Hamnet
7. 28 Years Later

The Secret Agent, It Was Just An Accident, and Train Dreams are all high on my list to see from 2025 and I imagine any of those could (will?) change the list once I've seen them. I've got high expectations for all three.
