Ed's monkeywrench persona purged Dave A for far less!

congrats to all who went
thanks for the fanviews
despite the heckling on this board, PJ (live) is always a special experience
even if they abort 4-5 songs, provide low-energy renditions, forget lyrics, do too many covers, start playing 50% the same songs in predictable locations every night over and over, pollute our oceans with mountains of child-labor-made plastic doo dad merchandise, charge $600 per seat, have a lead singer who can't sing anymore and rambles on and on and on too much, has a singer who sues charities, has a singer that wears stupid hats, has a singer that is balding, has a singer that sounds like the micro machines guy, has a guitarist who killed a person during their regular webcast-while-driving and is not in jail for it, does not treat boom like people, makes terrible new albums, is no longer relevant, has no moral high-ground on which to stand on any issue any more, and are comprised of a group of very short people
despite all that, it is always a special live experience
congrats to all who went

Mike's solo during Even Flow was exceptionally good.

don't. get. hammered.
it's the gummies. they take one. it doesn't kick in. they take another. and the next thing you know there are 3-4 dudes holding up red lights and making ed stop the show.
100%. guy next to us basically had to sit the whole show with his head down because he couldn’t handle his shit. and every person i saw get hauled out in a wheelchair probably were drunk, but they were clearly on another planet, too. couple it with the heat/humidity and a high likelihood they didn’t eat enough, and you get what happened last night.
i like the red lights, it shows security is aware and help is on the way. ed must have got that memo because he ignored them the rest of the night.

I’m worried about being in GA Saturday. From my vantage point last night, it looked more packed than ever. No place in the wings to just breathe.
stone’s side in the wings had plenty of room if you don’t mind not being close. we posted up on a back rail and other than the occasional people passing through it was pretty comfortable viewing/listening. we’ll probably try for that again saturday (thanks, strat!).

This is 100% my strategy for GA over the next couple weeks.

Maybe the lyrics have changed, and you're holding onto the wrong ones.

Jambase wrote:The “Won’t Tell” duet came within the encore. Eddie Vedder spotted the concertgoer asking to sing the Dark Matter standout. The frontman addressed the crowd to set up the duet:
We’re gonna try something different. There’s a song called “Won’t Tell,” they’ve been playing it a bit on the radio. There’s a woman in the front row who says that she can sing it. Now, it took me about I don’t know how many years to get from the front row to the stage. Maam, it just took you about 90 seconds.
Eddie Vedder welcomed the fan to the stage and introduced “Ebby” to Wrigley Field. “This could work out — Ebby and Eddie — but it could …,” Vedder warned. He then noted “she’s nervous, but I’m not” and clarified “I’m not nervous for her.” The Illinois native spent a moment putting the spotlight on bassist Jeff Ament as Ebby took deep breaths.
“So you just jump in, the water’s fine,” Vedder advised. Pearl Jam and their guest then pulled off a fine version of “Won’t Tell.” Ebby did a fine job harmonizing with Eddie Vedder to the delight of the crowd. Ebby took a few photos with Vedder before the show rolled on to its conclusion.

I was checking out the amp situation and was inspecting Jeff’s three stacks. From left to right he’s using Low, Lower and Lowest.

Honestly, the bass sound kept going in and out.
I will say Ed sounded better at this show than any other I’ve been to in this “modern era.”

They are so fucking on this year. Glad to see it continuing. Still salty about the lack of Won’t Tell in Portland/Seattle.

Were there porta potties for the field or am I going to have to go up to the concourse for a slash?

I would scale Mt Everest to avoid a porta potty on the field of wrigley. like, just burn me if I have to use one.

Why? You don’t sit to piss. I’ve shat in a porta potty just twice in my life:
1) Lollapalooza 2007. Was super hungover. It was a furnace in there and I was sweating profusely. Squeezed out a hard turd and then watched Amy Winehouse’s set.
2) Starting line before my first marathon. Diarrhea during the national anthem. Ran it in 3:37.

You’ve gotta leave the field and walk up to the main concourse for the portapotty village. Takes a minute.
