When my family goes around the table later and says what we are thankful for, I'm going to say that I'm thankful for my reconciliation with my new friend trag

But think about how bay 80s architecture and decor looks today. Now imagine in another 20 years how awful the whole "Brooklyn waterfront industrial" thing is going to look.
absolutely no offense taken. this is my wife’s aunts house. everyone here, except my wife and BiL are very conservative Christian folk with no discernible taste. My BiL brought some near beer because he does tech for the company—grüvi or something like that—and it’s the saving grace keeping the trumpers at bay.

We did a 4 pound turkey breast in the insta pot today then shredded it for chili. Not quite a turkey-hater recipe, but adjacent. I love doing non-traditional thanksgiving meals with traditional thanksgiving foods. Last year we did turkey hot dogs topped with sauerkraut and stuffing.

a black friday tradition... my wife bemoans how she dislikes turkey and NEXT thanksgiving, we should do a ham, etc. like clockwork.

never happens, of course.

just ordered two free-range, organic turkeys to be delivered at my parents' place just in time for the fireworks show with my in-your-face, aggressive, maga-loving aunt and uncle. at least i'll eat well.

Due to my mom's health and other factors we aren't doing a turkey or ham this year. Sounds like frozen lasagna is on the menu. God bless.
