welp. went to the beer store, and they had nothing interesting this week. They did still have some Bolt Cutter they put back out, so I bought that even though I didnt love it the first time.

This dude at a convenience store with nice selection asked me if there was anything I want him to order and I said Founders, he said "I'll get it as long as you buy it."

This store is by my gf's place and I've maybe been there twice in a year. I just couldn't resist.

hold on big spender, those must be good friends to take the champagne of beers, you could always take Carlings Black Label, the canadian beer, brewed in Milwaukee. .50 cents per.

Speaking of Founders, picked up some KBS yesterday. I'm aging most of it, but downed a bottle (that was bottled on March 23rd) last night. I'm sure it wasn't good for my antibiotic, but it sure was delicious. Good times.

My favorite brewers seem to be from Oregon with Rogue and Widmer leading the list. But there seems to be a lot of great stuff coming from California. Any of you try FIrestone Walker (the DBA in particular), Hangar 24, or the Bruery? Those are three outstanding ones. I got a subscription to the Bruery this year, and what I am trying is pretty outstanding. They specialize in Belgian style and sour beers. They also have some pretty potent shit (at about 14-15% ABV) that is pretty nice.

I guess I was assuming you wanted to keep your friends.

:) I gladly share whatever beer I have with anyone who would like to try it. Carlings, is actually pretty good ice cold with tacos. It's a dollar at my local Taqueria.

Searched and didn't see this here, it was added to the original thread's first post:

Spending a few days in North Carolina and hitting up Charlottesville, VA on the way back. Will be looking to trek back some Bells, Bear Republic, Sweetwater and Terrapin.

Trying to get my buddies from Yakima, WA to send me some beers from a new brewing company out there called Bale Breaker. The hops they grow out there are amazing, I used to love when we did a survey in a hops field just for the smell. There is only one other brewery in Yakima, which is surprising. Hoping this new one will produce some nice, hoppy beers.

I must say I enjoyed the Yakima Glory from Victory I had a few weeks ago.

Made an unplanned stop en route to destination, wife was happy with six Potter's Farmhouse Ciders (all the store had); my selections:

Bell's Two Hearted Ale
Bell's Third Coast Old Ale
Lagunitas Sucks (never made it to CT)
Terrapin Moo-Hoo

Need to familiarize myself with Terrapin for the ride back but I must say that my original taste of Two-Hearted clearly must have been an old sixer, this stuff is so well balanced it's stupid.

Skitch'll like this, as we were cashing out the cashier handed my ID back and asked "You don't have Bell's up there do you?" I replied no, hence my purchases... his response "Man, Idunno what I'd do."

Yakima Glory is good stuff.

Tried the Goose Island IPA for the first time last night, I really enjoyed it. Apparently they were bought by InBev so it's not as good now but I thought it was a very good IPA.
