Doc, I know you have some favorite discs already, but never pass up the chance to try different discs. Once you get your throwing down you'd be surprised how much variation you can see disc to disc. When I come up in a couple of weeks, I'll bring all my discs with me in case we get a chance to play, so you can try out some different discs.

that will work, i dont know if im anywhere close to consistent enough to be able to take advantage of the ones that are supposed to react different ways, but i will take it as an excuse to buy more discs if i do like the way i throw them :D . and if its during the week when you are here, i can usually get home from work and back out by about 6 which would give plenty of time to play a round if you are up for it.

i am addicted right now as well and it's an addiction that's going on 13 years now. I also have a bit of a plastic addiction to go along with it. At last count I have over 150 discs in my house. Two new 10th anniversary buzzz's just found their way into my life this week and I'm enamored with them.

And if you lose one, so what? Are you planning on saving them and mounting them in a trophy case for display? It's a disc. Go throw them.
i bought an extra set of discs so i could try to get my buddy into playing, and on our 3rd round he threw one in the water and was freaking out because he lost it, thought i was going to be pissed, it wasnt special to me, i picked up some that i thought would be good for a beginner and the one he lost was 8 bucks, no biggy. BUT ive gotten pretty attached already to the ones im using, so i might be a little disappointed if i lose one of them, but if i can find the same one to replace it then ill be good
You will lose discs, it just happens. But it hurts, especially when it's a disc you've grown attached to. I'd be so upset if I lost my comet, it's one of my originals.
I'm pretty sure a comet was one of my recommendations to you when you were starting out. :heartbeat:

I don't currently carry comets, but they're a great disc.

Also, Doc, I have way too many discs. I'll bring them all and if there are any you seem comfortable with you can keep them as long as they aren't in my regular rotation.

First, my wife would disagree that there is no such thing as too many. Second, that disc in the pic above is AWESOME.

The past five or six times out I've been sticking with a Shark and a #1 Slice which I've had for at least 10 years, probably more. But they never let me down.

my wife would disagree too, but she's wrong. this is an old picture and there's at least two bins missing from it, but here's a lot of my gear...

what are the benefits of all the extra discs when you have found the basic 3 you like to throw the most? mine are all fairly stable flying ( or at least supposed to be  ) since im just starting out, but do you usually carry somehting that will really curve around things easily and stuff like that? the different discs and what they should do for you is still pretty overwhelming, i read different non stop things for like 3 days before i decided to go up to the shop and pick some out
