7.5 miles with 2,400 feet in elevation change in 66 minutes

Spent most of the day on the lake after borrowing my sister's boat. Wife and kids were wasted when we got back and all went down for a nap. Despite spending a good hour wakeboarding, I hit the trail. Felt good, but my legs were feeling it toward the end. Trail was packed again. 2 years ago I would run this trail and it wouldn't be uncommon to not see a single person. Now it's jam-packed starting in October. :?

Sunday: Lower Body and Core Workout ~30, definitely going to be adding a stretching session after this.
Today: 5 miles on the treadmill. Definitely did not eat well enough this weekend to power through this but did shave some time.

Streak: 24

If I can continue with the progress, my wife and I will be running in the DC Rock 'n' Roll Marathon, me the half her the full.

Dunno, just finishing is kind of the big thing for me. This weekend might get above 40 degrees, if so I'd very much like to get out and see what a true comfortable pace is; that will be useful info. I still feel a bit of a slave to the treadmill, started covering the dash to get the numbers out of my head. But running when it is less than ten degrees out hurts like a motherfucker the way I've been sucking wind.

Catchup post.

I went away last Tuesday with the family, and came back on Sunday. There was a track running from our place, along the river inlet to a small town/waterfront. It was a 9km round trip, and I gave myself a challenge to run it every day. I manage to compete this, but I'm really paying for it now.

Did a core workout yesterday and today.

Monday:

5 miles in 35 minutes

Ran with the baby in running stroller. Felt good. Even split. No finishing kick.

Tuesday:

10 miles in 68 minutes

Ran at the gym. Meh. Hit the dry sauna after the run and apparently some stupid fucks complained about it being too hot, so the management turned it down 20 degrees. Now it's about as warm as a summer's day. I wish I could murder the people who complained.

I've taken a leaf out of t2b's "Book of Hardcore", and run both of the last 2 days while being crook with diarrhea. Managed 5k both times, but almost had an accident both times, sheesh.

5 miles in 34 minutes

Ran at 4 a.m. Weird, hazy overcast clouds seemed to trap the heat in and I dumped my running jacket. Even split. Crappy finishing kick. I'll running at 10 p.m. tomorrow and get a 40+ hour break between runs.
