This is pretty accurate, except the 2000 tour beats all. But pretty accurate otherwise.

Stip, can you correct the spelling in the thread title?
the three shows I saw that tour are probably 3 of my bottom 5. But I just had bad luck
What were the 3 shows?

Uhh, they were on actually earlier than that. The band had not broken supernova yet and they were given a very early slot on the bill. It went Lush then Pearl Jam. Second on a bill of about ten acts!

You should've been there.

They were still pretty good as the Honking Seals too. But they'd gotten a little fat and lazy with their success.

Yeah JB 1 and 2 were not the best, particularly JB 1. I'm a bit surprised you're down on Philly 1. You shoulda gone to Boston 1 that tour.

It may have also been Philly 2. I'm not sure which one I saw. I have few memories of that show one way or the other. It's my forgotten show, so how good could it have been.

Can you remember if they played Breath? That would have been a big deal at the time, and that'd give you the answer.

"When I gazed longingly into Wishlist's eyes that day at Jones Beach, I knew it would all be downhill from there. But I also knew it had all been worth it, because for a single moment when our eyes met in a stare, the world was perfect." -Ed, deleted scene from PJ20

No, I don't mean lazy in the sense of energy and physical effort. Pearl Jam probably still score high marks in those departments. By lazy I mean...well, do they still close their shows with "Yellow Ledbetter"? Are they still doing "Rockin' In The Free World"? If so, then that's just a lazy option. Why not try and bring something different to the game instead of the tried and tested and safe?

the only thing you could call "lazy" about their live show is their lack of creativity with the second encore. it seemed to me there were less covers this year, and i noticed 'indifference' close more shows than normal. they covered 'mother' by pink floyd when i saw them, which is a new cover as far as i know.

That's not the only thing, it's just an example I gave you. And it is an apt example. Jeez, they've been closing their shows with that song for how many decades now? Man, even Springsteen doesn't close with "The Detroit Medley" anymore, but Pearl Jam is going to close their shows with....uhh, let me guess..."Yellow Ledbetter"!

The variety in the setlists was much greater in 1992.

When they closed with Black in Dublin in 2000, it was sweet.

Now's the time for them to listen to their fans, and release the album that LB should've been. It'll be called Lighting Re-Bolted.
