Now I'm going to have to look that one up. Speaking of old school I had a lot of fun with Pacman DX a few years ago. Also Megaman 9 was a throwback, just like the nintendo games and it was hard as fuck. I couldn't even make it to a boss.
Pacman DX is great. A great new twist on an old idea.

Ordered a PS3 today after a few months of waiting. I went with the edition that includes Uncharted 1+2 and Infamous 1+2, then also ordered MLB 13 The Show to arrive with the console. Gonna have to wait until the next paycheck to order more games, but I think I'll have plenty to do when it gets here.

yeah those'll keep you busy for a while. uncharted 1&2 are both 10-20 hour games, and Infamous 1&2 are both 20-40 hour games with room for a second replay to follow an alternate path. have fun, those are top notch games.

Yeah, you're going to have a lot of fun with those. The nice thing about purchasing a console late into the life cycle is there are so many great games available.

I picked up the standalone Far Cry 3 expansion: Blood Dragon. Pure 80's cheese and I'm lovin' it!

Finally beat Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition. Such an incredible game. Anyone who enjoys Medieval Fantasy and a challenge bordering on masochistic should definitely check it out. Here are some screenshots:
Next up is La-Mulana.
"La Mulana is a gem of pure gameplay, based on exploration and old-school action. It may not appeal to everyone, for its formula and for its challenging difficulty, but those looking for a solid action adventure in 2D gloriousness should look no further."
As expected, its difficult but fun. I also have a huge boner for polished pixel-art.

If I'm not mistaken, the takeaway is that almost no one here uses a PC (or *shudder*) Mac as their primary 'console', eh?

I used to. But my graphics card is 6 years old now. (the rest of my PC is pretty beefy) I'm waiting to see what's what with the new consoles before I make any new purchases. I do miss PC gaming though. The only two games I play right now are Warhammer dawn of war 2 and TF2.

Pretty sure I'm one of the only PC gamers who frequents this thread. Hence why I link a lot of screenshots from Steam. Master race etc.

Heh, I was a top 5 Ork in the world in 1v1 for a while. I have too many hours logged in that game. We should play some time.

I keep seeing people post on facebook about Star Wars The Old Republic being free to play now...is that true? Or if it is...is it just not that great and that's why it's free to play?
Also, I was one of the biggest Metal Gear Solid fans starting with the first installment up until its exciting conclusion with MGS4. Seeing the trailers for MGSV has me all excited as a fanboy again. I do hate that I very recently bought the MGS HD Collection only to have the MGS Legacy Collection announced...I don't even want to think about how many times I have bought different versions of MGS3.

You'd kick my ass. I'm an ork player too but I'm somewhere around .500 with over 400 matches.

the last few things I've played on the PC were Crusader Kings II and Faster Than Light. I was looking forward to playing Sim City until I saw it was going to have the bullshit always on internet connection. Glad I dodged that bullet.

A friend of mine tried it and said it was fantastic. I think just the story mode is free (which is massive). Side quests are not. He only quit playing becaue his pc can't handle the game well.

I tried to get into MGS but it seems like its always 90% cut scenes 10% game play. I know that's an exaggeration but it seems that way whenever I play one of them.

that's a pretty fair assessment, especially of MGS4
