Thanks, MindYourTanners, I will give these a listen--- wrote:start with on the beach and zuma, proceed as desired
harvest, on the beach, and zuma paint as representative a picture of young's output as you're going to get. if you're still lukewarm after these three albums, don't waste your time giving later albums a try.

i'm not sure this would reside in my top five or six neil young albums, petercutuphalfdead wrote:Listen to the album After The Gold Rush. You're not allowed to have an opinion on Neil Young without at the very least having heard that album.stip wrote:I kinda liked that one.cutuphalfdead wrote:

And here's the thing, people seem to assume that I'm standing there with my arms crossed saying "the emperor has no clothes. Go on then. PROVE ME WRONG", but I'm just being honest about my experience with the Neil Young stuff I had been exposed to-- which I have now learned is not a good representation of his best work. I'm halfway through On the Beach and really liking it. I'll listen to Zuma next.--- wrote:theplatypus wrote:I'm on track 2 and I already like On the Beach better than anything else I've heard.
