Have to agree that this story was pretty great. I'm really digging the Injustice series right now too. Just fucking brutal and awesome.

I don't read DC, so I don't know what this character originally looked like but that's some sexy right there.
Maybe they're looking to increase female readership.

I don't really have anything invested in Lobo so the redesign doesn't bother me.

All of their redesigns look the same. He looks exactly like cyborg superman. Jesus, they need a better creative team over there.
BTW my pick of the weeks are just going to be the Injustice series every week. That is such a fun read.

And why redesign Lobo? Thats a stupid idea in the first place, why messing with the character so much?HardTI wrote:All of their redesigns look the same. He looks exactly like cyborg superman. Jesus, they need a better creative team over there.

Yeah at first I thought it was the new Superman bad guy H'ell or however it's spelled. They all look the same. I kinda stopped doing picks of the week cause it was the same 5 comics month after month. Found myself picking lesser comics just for a change. I should try Injusice.

Re: Calling All Comic Geeks!
I love the new direction of X-Men Legacy (v2). I never cared for it when it was Rogue-focused but now that Legion is the central character, things are much more interesting. Literally anything could happen.

I tried jumping into X-men Legacy but there were a lot of characters I knew nothing about and I was overwhelmed.

Re: Calling All Comic Geeks!
I can see where that would happen, even I get confused as to what's going on sometimes and I'm allover the X-books.
I think the main thing you have to keep in mind is half the characters are part of David's split psyche and almost all the baddies are new to us.
The last couple of books involved X-men with UK origins, which I found kind of fun (more Pete Wisdom!).

I pretty love everything about X-Men except for X-Men itself. Why is that?

Re: Calling All Comic Geeks!
This may well be it. It's like, the context, political and social, man that's good stuff. And I love the mutant theme, there's a lot of stuff which could stand as allegory for any number of minority rights issues (disability for one). It's a great idea. And I like some of the X-Men in theory. But terrible Wolverine films just put me off and make me think look, teach me the skills; I'LL make a good one, OK? I guess the execution often leaves something to be desired. Also, the comic mythology is just too vast. If I wanted some stuff in which that Identity Politics theme came to the fore, where would I start? I don't know. I don't just want the fighting, I want to know about Professor X and Magneto and their political disagreements about equality etc.VinylGuy wrote:There are too many of them.harmless wrote:I pretty love everything about X-Men except for X-Men itself. You might like Whedon's Astonishing X-Men run. Probably any Top 10 X-Men stories list would have all the obvious classics.
