What's your take on World War Z? Did you read the books it was based off of?

LoVer, do you like shots of characters in movies squinting into the distance as a foreboding evil approaches?

I thought it was a big mess. The terrible pacing and lack of any kind of development in any area of the movie killed it for me. I did not read the book(s).

You'd be more pissed if you read the books. There is so much potential for 4 or 5 movies out of the really good story from the books, but they messed that up.

Yeah, the missed potential definitely stung. That movie could, no, SHOULD have been awesome. What a waste.

Even if you just read the plot notes on Wikipedia about the books it will be enough to be disappointed in it.

Who posted that thing about Godzilla only being seen for eight minutes in the movie? I have a question for them... did they like Cloverfield?

You take that Godzilla-dissing out of the LoathedVermin thread, mister.

Cloverfield dissing is fine.

I think that's actually true. Doesn't matter at all, of course.

No it doesn't. But if for some reason they liked Cloverfield but not Godzilla... The monster in Cloverfield is in it for what, 30 seconds?

And the camera work is so awful. Just horrible.
