neither do i, yet you have no problem telling me i'd be wrong to disagree with you...
Sorry, I came on a bit strong. The "You'd be wrong." was meant to be a bit tongue-in-cheek. My apologies, sincerely.

But let me ask you this: If you take in a work of art you think is great, but then find out after the fact that the artist is a Neo-Nazi who made the work with racist intent even though that doesn’t come across to you at all in the work, is the greatness of the work now invalidated?
i've had this argument already with kevin davis in the N&D forum.
he's never spoken to me since.

What are your feelings on Hitler's dog art?
why'd you think he killed all those jews? because the art critics laughed at him and his paintings. that's why

For the record, malice - I'm self-taught as well. I've never been to film school and have not arrived at where I am by studying theories. My beliefs about art were formed almost entirely by lots and lots and lots of time spent thinking about the subject. They were formed by my own passion. I'm not saying I'm unfamiliar with a lot of theories or that I haven't read the work of people who are far more knowledgeable about film than I, but that's not what informs my views.

The Quality of Die Hard movies decreases with each one.

This is specifically related to Die Hard 2 being better than 3.
