There are two or three things that piss me off about King Animal, which is about the same as Lightning Bolt.

King animal was a better record than anyone had a right to expect, given CC's prior decade. But it was pretty good. I just can't buy any further into it than that.

On the other hand, Soundgarden was never among my favorite bands, so I was not exactly the target audience

Yup. It's fair to say that I prefer Lightning Bolt because it's by Pearl Jam, and I know that idea is despised, but never mind. There were better albums than King Animal released around the time, but Soundgarden fans were favouring the good album by their favourite band.

This reminds me that my review of album #11 is half-written. Things keep distracting me, and it still needs like another 4,000 words to be as long as stip's for LB.
