Awesome show last night. some isolated sloppiness, but man they really have great energy and are clearly having a blast together.

having had the album a couple of weeks now i like it quite a bit. this one was more of a growing attraction whereas the first was an immediate attraction. i think it still lacks the feeling of 'fun' that seemed present on the first record, but after seeing a few of the live performances they've posted on their youtube channel and some of the fan-made videos, it is obvious the live versions of these songs aren't lacking in that regard. it made me more disappointed they didn't have a local stop like they did last tour. nyc freaks is still the best on the record, imo, but stray, stronger man, and dream your life away are also among my favorites on the album.

Swung by my local record shop to look for a few things that I didn't end up finding, although on a whim, I flipped through the discs under "M" and somehow found a misplaced copy of Acts for $4. Score.

Had forgotten about this record for a while and I'm listening to it now, it really is wonderful.

Is he a heavy drinker/drugger?
He's been back and forth from what I understand. I bet I've seen him play four of five times and had a few conversations with him. It really bummed me out to see him like that.
On the bright side Nicole Atkins played before him and I totally crushed all over her.
