Yup. Not so much as even a minor misstep. There is very little separation between Alligator, Boxer, HV, and Trouble.

Agreed. They are all spectacular.

I listened to Boxer yesterday. I had barely listened to anything from these guys before, I liked it a lot.

The "Day of the Dead" show these guys did at this year's Eaux Claires fest was pretty great. Kinda sleepy at times, but that had more to do with a couple of the guest vocalists mailing it in. Berninger and Will Oldham were especially good.

yeah i need to see him...i think he was either in nashville or birmingham a few years ago and i didn't go, but i think i may have not known until after the show

No, Oldham did Bird Song, Ruben & Cherise, and If I Could Give You the World (or whatever it's called), and Berninger did Morning Dew and Ripple.

Oldham's spoken word performances with Eighth Blackbird were a highlight of the weekend. I hope they bring him back for a proper BPB show next year.

This has been my reaction to every album by the National. The more I listen, the more I like it.

I'm not sure if this was posted, but I just stumbled on this. Great video and sound. Lots of songs they never play anymore.
