we always had them in the garden growing up
we also had a peach tree, an apple tree, two plum trees, an apricot tree, three varieties of grapes, and of course tomatoes

That’s bringing back fond memories of fresh picked cucumbers, okra, tomatoes and banana peppers all laid out on my grandma’s kitchen counter. She’d insist on us each filling up a gallon Ziploc with them after a visit.

Currently have heirloom tomatoes, cucumbers, radishes, peas, garlic and onions planted. Going to do some potatoes too

I floated the idea of taking the family car to get some tomato vines later this evening but my wife reminded me that we’re in an unseasonable cold snap right now. I might wait until next week. What would I do without her?

It rained all night and it’s still raining. Probably would have been a good watering opportunity for tomatoes.

speaking of tomatoes, i've been on the kick lately of having tomato salad..just cut up with onions, a bit of basil, and a splash of italian dressing..i make it in large quantities and let it sit in the fridge at least a day..so good
