He is entitled to go to a marvel thread and say whatever he wants. Is he wasting time? yeah, probably.
I think his extreme opinions which generally run counter to widely-held, critically supported opinions invite the attacks. The majority of people who study/review movies are of the general opinion that this movie is pretty good. A or B. LV doesn't come in and say, "I didn't really enjoy it." He comes in with something insane like, "this movie is a smoking turd."

Ruddo didn't seem to enjoy this movie anymore than LV did, but no one attacked him. Irrational posting invites irrational posting.
I dont think LV is irrational with his views about Marvel...but thats me. If you think he is being irrational begin more irrational is the way tho handle him? Thats weird.

Also..¨general opinion¨LOL.

I seem to remember getting looked down upon because I think Drive sucked, so I guess that's just how A&E is.

Also, if you hated Hudson Hawk you are an asshole

There's just no talking to the Rotten Tomatoes mob. They're like the alt-right of movies.

bitching about spider-man being aimed for kids is stupid. the character is 15 years old, he's a kid himself. what should he make anal rape jokes or talk about the time he fucked the spider and it bit him? now, so of course he is going to have star wars stuff in his room (big whoop, could care less if its a disney property) it also ties into his excitement when he figured out how to bring down giant(ant)man. kids see old movies/tv shows and think they are the first to discover it.

i liked GotGv2 but didnt love it. it was very watchable but there are things about it i just nodded at. its probably in the bottom tier of marvel related movies for me (in terms of the MCU that started with IM)

bitching about a movie like spider-man or anything else being cookie cutter or following a formula is asinine. movies get made for 1 of 2 reasons. to make money and to make a statement. making a statement for most major releases is an afterthought. sure there are movies like green mile or the piano or what not that make a nice change and have a compelling story, but they arent my cup of tea. never saw either of them nor care to. guess what? if theres a thread about them i wouldnt watch it and then basically talk down to everyone that enjoyed it.

I think that's part of the problem (maybe not so much on the board, but just in general). Their are a group of Marvel fans, that act like these are, the greatest movies ever made. The group that constantly post on X-men (and previously Spider-man movies) posts that Fox and Sony need to give the rights back to Marvel so Marvel can do it right. That act like Marvel, has not done anything wrong, and has not made a single bad movie. They make fun, popcorn movies. And they should be enjoyed for that. The people that act like these are award worthy movies are drinking too much of the Marvel cool-aide. So anytime any of the rest of us criticize the Marvel movies, we come across as haters. I have a coworker who falls in this group, and told me Logan, was the worst comic book movie ever made and Fox should not be allowed to make another movie. AND He LOVED GotG 2. Keep drinking that cool-aide.

I really don't think there are any cool aid Marvel fans here. The reason LV can be polarizing is he tends to have immediate steadfast rock hard never gonna bend opinions that are often to be the opposite of general consensus and he is baffled when someone disagrees and wants to discuss it but not really and no one is ever gonna change their minds and it goes in a never ending circle and bleeds into new threads and everyone is exhausted. I'm not 12 I really liked Spider-Man I don't care if people didn't like it its OK by me not [*edit] to like it.

Why is there name calling? ever? That's when i check out.

But when it comes to LV - gotta respect his steadfastness. Its impressive. What tickles my tummy about him though is that the things he bitches about in movies that I/most people here like...are things that are super super apparent in all of the ridiculous movies he likes but in those movies he praises them as art. The whole michael bay thing is just hilarious. His love of the worst adam sandler movies are some of the funniest things ive read on the internet. Sometimes LV can't get past his single minded hatred over some things, but he's passionate and well versed so it really is okay. I dont think LV is an asshole, he's just passionate.

I really am starting to hate the internet though.

And LV does troll like a son of a bitch in the Star Wars threads. So....

We just had a long talk tonight at work about how bad the Michael Bay "Pearl Harbor" movie was. All acting, explosions, bad dialogue, bad CGI, more explosions aside, over half of the movie isn't even about Pearl Harbor. Its got the Battle of Britain and Doolittles Raid slapped in their and treated like foot notes to the Pearl Harbor attack. The owners of the Zeros were going to repaint them to authentic "grey" paint jobs, and he said no, I like how the green looks on the screen and contrasts against the ocean. Then turns around and brags up about how historical accurate the movie is with having real Japanese Zeros in it (even though in the movie its 90% CGI LOL) ugh just ugh.

Back to Spider-man, I really didn't mind this movie, as the Marvel joke fest formula does indeed work with Spider-man. Its one of the biggest reasons though I hope Fox keeps the X-men. I just wish Fox would plan shit out better for future movies.

Maybe irrational is not the right word. He enjoys trashing a movie that he knows everyone else likes, and states it in a way that implies that anyone feeling differently is an idiot.

I'm kind of dumbfounded by this as well. You've always said you hated movies when you do, but I don't recall ever being made to feel like an "idiot" when we disagree. Sure, there have been some times when you joke around, but I think your good name is being dragged through the mud here.

Oh it will come. And the movie will premiere and LV´s reaction will be hysterical....and we will be there, listening to him...grabbing the good parts and giving him our love if he says something like ¨Batman & Robin is great"

This is just like the "negativity in Pearl Jam Chat" thing, except even more ridiculous because most people in this thread liked the movie.

Leave LV alone, let him post whatever he wants, be more confident in your own goddamn opinions
