wasn't much of a fan of season 1. It just seems like the convoluted story lines papered over the cracks of a poorly written show.

i bet you don’t even have a lake housetree_ wrote:Well, I don't plan on going to a Pearl Jam show for the rest of my life unless they change their rockin ways significantly. You're welcome to come out to my lake house in MO, though, Lenny. But you have to bring a boat.lennytheweedwhacker wrote::/
There seem to be major plot holes.Orpheus wrote:Why do people think this show is poorly written? I never had any particular big gripes with it. Sometimes I wonder if I'm watching the same stuff as the rest of you.
I haven't rewatched it, but for me it was the whole concept of the control room. It seemed like sometimes they had granular control over everything and sometimes they were asleep at the wheel. Tesla has better monitoring over it's cars than they did over their robots.Orpheus wrote:Such as? Although I should say I am typically not really bothered by plot holes, especially in fantasy/sci-fi. Unless they're egregious, I'm watching the show to be wowed and told a story, not to have a airtight flowchart of plot that moves exactly from A to B to C with no errors. But I seem to be in the minority on that.
Oh man, LOVED me some Candle Cove. I didn't like No End house as much, but it was decent.LoathedVermin72 wrote:Channel Zero: Candle CoveHeyGuys wrote:What are some TV dramas you like, LV?
Band of Brothers
The first season of Girls
The first two seasons of Z Nation
The first five(ish) seasons of The X-Files
Firefly
Star Trek: The Next Generation
Uhhh I can’t think of any others
That's about where my opinion netted out too. I'll still watch this though.jwfocker wrote:wasn't much of a fan of season 1. It just seems like the convoluted story lines papered over the cracks of a poorly written show.
I find it very interesting, but AI-AI relationships and the increasing depictions of them fascinate me. One of the reasons I enjoyed the new Blade Runner as well.LoathedVermin72 wrote:I think the main reason the writing is bad is because the show is inefficient and doesn’t explore anything interesting. Comparing it to Crichton’s movie makes this immediately clear, IMO. He accomplishes so much more and in far less time.
I could not be less interested in the way Westworld and BR2049 “explored” this.Orpheus wrote:I find it very interesting, but AI-AI relationships and the increasing depictions of them fascinate me. I didn't dislike it. I just found myself totally apathetic to the characters.Orpheus wrote:I know how you feel about it. I really am surprised to read people bagging on this show so much though. I thought it was pretty damn good.
