Kevin Davis wrote:I like parts of the first two Audioslave albums, but I thought "Revelations" was abysmal. I played it for a few weeks and pawned it. Maybe it's due for a relisten.

The Rage rhythm section just does nothing for me.
I didnt quite liked it at first, but now i can see what they were trying to do. Its not a complete success, but they were going to an interest place if made a 4th one.

But if you dont like Timmy C and Brad, i guess its just not your band..

I really love the song Revelations. Jewel of The Summertime is another really good one.

Yeah, the song Revelations is pretty awesome....the lyrics are great. I love how pissed off Cornell was with Susan. Its in all those albums.

I don't know anything about their split. What's the short version?
Well, it seems Cornell was depressed and fucked up for a long time, maybe starting in 1998 or 1999. After the first Audioslave album he left her and move to Paris i guess. And a few years then he got married again. In the Audioslave debut there are already hints about a possible breakup, songs like Getaway Car or What You Are..but after that its full ¨fuck you mode¨; Revelations, Part Of Me, Scream, Long Gone...those are pretty direct songs.
And it is said Susan take it pretty badly, mouth trashing the guy with the SG fellas, keeping some guitars from him and money. I think she even sent a guy, a private detective to his Paris's house. Weird.

She's still Alice in Chains' manager, I think.

Long before then, certainly between Superunknown and DOTU.

True. But i guess when it was more noticeable was after EM. At least for Susan Silver.

The lyrics for Pretty Noose are a dead give away.

You think thats for her?
Its more difficult to me to know what those lyrics are about, around those years he wasnt so straightforward with lyrics.
Boot Camp could be about her, as well as about the band...i always thought that was more about the band or seattle than their relationship...but there is no doubt about songs like Scream, Part of me or Getaway Car.

i like it. Or respect it. It was a really flawed experiment at a moment were Cornell was seeking for attention...but the songs are really personal and good, the thing is, for me, the production is horrible. Pretty much everything Timbaland did was awful. He didnt even get the idea of the album...its a shame because there were some pretty cool songs underneath all those awful beats...the same album with a different producer could have been amazing.

Still i like Part of me, Ground Zero, Scream, Take Me Alive and Two Drink Minimum.

Yeah, most of them are being played acoustically...Scream is the obvious one, seems it was meant that way. I wish him to release the demos someday...im sure they are pretty different.

As for what he said for the album, the guy defends it a lot. He still think it was something ahead of his time, and he might be right..i dont know...But im sure the same songs with someone different producing like Kanye, Jay Z or lets think someone from the alt world like Trent Reznor would be fucking great.

Yeah, that whole story was as bizarre as the detective going to his home. Really weird shit...i think they closed the SG forum because of this girl.

The best part of that article was the fact that the stalker's mother's name is Robin Robbins.
