Radiohead | A Moon Shaped Pool

Other than Pearl Jam, who else is there?

HTTT just has too many good songs to be brushed aside. It's not the HTTT's fault that it has to be put up against all-time great albums. It would probably be Pearl Jam's 2nd or 3rd best record.

Also, am I the only person that enjoyed KoL?

I listened to KOL once and never revisited it.

Well, Radiohead isn't a one listen band for me. If that was the case i would have never liked half of their albums.

Probably. But I had already lost interest after not liking In Rainbows, so I wasn't feeling very motivated to try harder.

I don't know that I would agree that anything on HTTT is a straight-up rehash of older songs. They're definitely trying new things within the confines of their established tropes, but it doesn't feel like going back to a dry well. (Does that make sense? My wording seems odd.)

There are definite lulls in the album, though. I could do without "Go to Sleep" and "I Will," while "Where I End and You Begin" and "A Punchup at a Wedding" I like only if I'm in the mood.

On the other hand, "There There" is probably my favorite Radiohead song, and "2+2=5," "Sail to the Moon," "The Gloaming," and "A Wolf at the Door" are also all top-tier songs.

I find listening to TKOL or HTTT much more enjoyable than a full run through of Kid A or Amnesiac these days.

2+2=5 = A fresh sound

Sit Down, Stand Up = A fresh sound

Sail To the Moon = a rehash of You and Whose Army?

Backdrifts = a boring combo of Like Spinning Plates and Idioteque

Go To Sleep = It's fine, but they did it better on Jigsaw Falling Into Place

Where I End and You Begin = It's fine, but they did it better on Bodysnatchers

We Suck Young Blood = a boring rehash of Life In a Glasshouse

The Gloaming = Pulk/Pull + Like Spinning Plates (though I do like this song quite a bit)

There There = Optimistic II

I Will = It's the first half of You and Whose Army repackaged

A Punchup... = A fresh sound for Radiohead, but it's a pretty straightforward RnB-influenced tune. Actually reminds me a lot of Elliott Smith's A Distored Reality...

Myxomatosis = National Anthem II (though I do love this song)

Scatterbrain = Paranoid Android + Knives Out

A Wolf at the Door = A fresh sound.

Here's hoping 'present tense' is on this album with some strings.

Hail to the Thief has always felt a little "off" to me. Independently, most of the songs are incredible. But as a whole, it just doesn't do it for me the way their other albums do.
