Mecca made a really funny comment on my Instagram the other day, so I respect him more now.

it looks like Disney's version of the Ghostbusters, so much so that I had to check the wiki page to see who produced this.
You know, this is a trend I've been noticing in "alternative comedy" lately. It's devolving into straight-up little kid humor, except with sexual references included to make it "edgy." Comedy Central is filled with utterly, painfully unwatchable variety shows like this (Not Safe with Nikki Glaser, that Hannibal Burress show). It's so bizarre. It really feels like an R-rated version Nickelodeon or the Disney Channel or something.
I've noticed this as well. I went back and watched some same-level (or, marketed that way) tv shows a few weeks ago, and the comparison was incredible to see. I really don't know what's happening, or why? Are policies so strong now that they have to generically whitewash everything and try and sneak in a "funny" adult moment? There's just a real lack of creativity out there these days from the larger entertainment conglomerates, which is kind of expected, but I never really thought it'd be this bland.

Quick. Name a joke from the original Ghostbusters that standing on it's own was obviously a joke that could be used in a trailer.

I think it's just that the writers are really awful. It doesn't seem like any kind of corporate influence - just unfunny material.

In movies? Kinda, yeah. Not in TV, though - that's all they have.
