Still dont like this without at least Izzy or Gilby. Sounds like Sorum is doing it though?

No Izzy means no real interest from me. This thread should get some use though.

Hopefully this means slash told axl he would only do it if he lost weight and learned to sing again

I hope it's the opposite. "I'm in if you put some pounds on, skinny. And no, we don't need to rehearse."

Coachella has in recent years convinced several big-name acts to emerge from retirement, even if temporarily, including Rage Against the Machine in 2007 and Outkast in 2014. You can't really count Tupac Shakur in 2012 as he was technically a hologram
This thread always delivers.

Bass player Duff McKagan, drummer Steven Adler and guitarist Izzy Stradlin, are also rejoining Slash and Rose.

Where did you see this? I haven't seen it in any article!

The band’s reunion lineup is unclear, though Axl, Slash, and Duff McKagan are all involved, sources tell CoS. Matt Sorum is believed to be behind the kit in place of original drummer Steven Adler. An official announcement is imminent.

Update – Wednesday, December 30th at 2:35 p.m. CT: According to Rolling Stone, Axl Rose will appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live next week during which he’s expected to announce the band’s reunion.

And the fact he only plays on 12 of their whatever many songs....

NOT being a part of the tour will be a lot worse for his sobriety, I give him six months tops if he doesn't have some role (even if it's the Mick Taylor come on for a couple of songs each night role)

There's no way Izzy is doing this, he might show up to a few gigs and play a couple of songs but he's not doing a full tour

I don't buy Sorum being in, supposedly Axl never could stand him, and besides, Ferrer fits better on GNRs material anyway

I want to respond in detail, but I'm not sure this board could handle an earnest Adler vs. Sorum debate.
there is no debate...Adler is a big reason AFD is what it is, and Sorum, while technically proficient, has no swing and is boring as fuck

I'd gladly rather have Adler but I dont see him learning material from UYI at all. And yea, I really think him not being included will send him off the deep end. Absolutely.

Ultimately its just going to be ridiculous but im curious to see this play out. Axl can't sing.

Also, what kind of production is this going to be? I know Duff and Slash were mostly against the major spectacle it became, but Axl seems to have continued down that path up until this day. Are they going to be stripped down? Or will there be a million backup singers, additional musicians and explosions? Will they write new material?
