It's also kind of amazing to realize that, when The Who finally closed up shop in 1983, Daltry was almost 10 years younger than Ed is now.

i dont think the who could be compared with PJ at all in terms of touring or recording material...PJ has been always around while The Who finished their studio run in the 80s i think and become right there a full nostalgia act for a long time, until their recent record.

It's hard to compare Pearl Jam with anyone now because they've been around long enough that their careers have taken many turns. They've been at it longer than most of the other bands, and remained largely intact as a unit for 21+ years. There aren't too many bands that have been around like that for so long, other than U2, the Rolling Stones, and maybe a few others. Everyone else has had at least some major changes or rethinking. I guess Aerosmith counts, but in my humble opinion, Aerosmith hasn't really knocked my socks off in a long long time (their 70s output to me is rather solid, but once they pulled off the initial rebranding they just seemed to be a shell of that prior awesomeness).

Then again, U2 went from political anthems to Pop to pumping out cliche anthems ad nausea, the Rolling Stones have had band member changes and long hiatus periods, and Aerosmith had a long break in the 80s to rehab, then pulled career 180s one after the other.

In other words, it's really rare for a group of artists to stay relatively consistent over this long of a time.

I don't hate these things, I just have no interest in them. We shouldn't have mocked the AnalLog shirts so mercilessly. Last year, they put those stickers out and then sold shirts with the design. The shirts, though not the coolest thing in the world, were a big improvement on AnalLog.

Underwhelmed is the right word.

Someone needs to twig that it is not in fact the Ten Club that I want stickers for. I am a fan of the band, not a fan of the fan club.
