And what constitutes him shitting the bed, specifically, in your opinion?

Interesting. And why would he do this? Laziness? Industry standards changing? Over-reliance on technology?

Industry standards, wanting airplay on top rock radio stations, trying to stay relevant, PRAMG, breathy vedder etc...

This all boils down to PJ really wanting to stay relevant and on the radio, yea?

Im half through the Yield episode...i really liked the No Code one even if i dont agree in a lot of stuff..the filler part and the hate with Off He Goes being two of them...but its a really cool thing to hear how weird this album is...i agree that its very uneven and even with that in mind, its my favorite one with Vs.

The guest on the Yield episode betrayed his lack of knowledge by dismissing All Those Yesterdays b/c it's one of those way over-long songs PJ does too often. He clearly looked at the track listing and saw the 7:47 listed for ATY and didn't listen. WE all know the time duration is because of the extended track...

You can't slip that kind of shit by The Jamily. :shake:

I am willing to call these kinds of transgressions out for now, but there will come a time when I need my fellow Jamily members of the Faithfull to carry me down the beach.

I would not describe Pearl Jam as a band that has too many long songs.

I haven't heard the podcast, and I think sometimes fans can shit on people in interviews like this for relatively minor transgressions, but that's pretty dumb.

finished the yield one..yeah, some comments are pretty weird...pearl jam long songs? Not really...Eddie not being good on ballads? Weird.

Only had time to listen to the first few minutes of the Yield ep this morning and it got off to a bad start. "If you talk about Yield you have to talk about Matt Cameron..." Uh, not really. And the guest being a stereotypical "checked out after Vitalogy" fairweather fan....sigh. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised but not impressed so far.

Have to remember that these guys are pretty casual fans appealing to even more casual fans.

Yep but it makes me wish there was an RMer fact checking or clarifying as they went. And do they have to go thru the backstory every ep.

it is kinda tiresome...specially the whole last names stuff...just talk about Jeff or Dave. Please.

I don't know, I kind of doubt there is that big an audience of people who aren't really PJ fans who would want to listen to people talk about them for an hour and a half.
