I think That’s So Raven deserves its own thread. It was nominated for a lot of BET awards.

My 7 & 9 year old are really into Gravity Falls right now so I feel pretty lucky they're all about something that's actually good.

Let me relieve you of the burden of thinking here. The mods think for you now.

That made me laugh.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Man. Magic Woods podcast is epic kids car-ride content.
Whimsical, slightly surreal episodic story featuring anthropomorphic characters and (maybe) time travel? I'm not far in yet, but I have fan theories.
There's lore and mystery.
This is like if Circle Round met Welcome to Night Vale. And ad-free!

Netflix -- Grizzly and the Lemmings is pretty great. Wile E. Coyote vs. Roadrunner vibes.
Car rides are all about the Libby App (public library audiobooks). I've heard just about every Hardy Boys and Boxcar Children known to man. I have serious concerns about the Boxcar Children all being obviously traumatized and nobody dealing with it (and their grandpa might actually be a covert narcissist). The Hardy Boys are pretty legit, though. Geronimo Stilton can go straight back to whatever corner of circle of Italian hell he sprang from.

Libby App is fantastic. We also do the "car shuffle" which is just every passenger in the car taking turns suggesting a song to play.

I hope we’re all enjoying/surviving K-Pop Demon Hunters.

My older kid was introduced to that one at a sleepover last month. I find it less objectionable than a lot of the crap they watch. It’s no Bluey but then again what is

I’m watching one of Mrs Wease’s co-worker’s little one this morning. She’s not yet one but isn’t far from it, I think. She likes this Bluey show. I’d never known anything about it but the name. This episode that’s on now, the dad was talking about some animal that is upside down when it pees and the pee runs all over its body. Kids programming sure has changed since our girls were small.

Does anyone else’s kids consume media in ways that seem psychotic to you? We haven’t had cable or over-the-air tv for about 5 years, so my kids barely have any experience with live TV (outside of sports). My daughter will be watching something on Netflix and will get up and go into the other room without pausing it, then come back into the room and just pick it up wherever it is. She will never have to go through that feeling or “I’ve got to run to the bathroom during the commercial and run back as fast as I can so I don’t miss anything,” and she still doesn’t utilize the pause button. It blows my mind.
She also reads and watches things out of order. She got a book from the library that was something like #7 in a series, because that was all they had, so we got her a box set with books 1-5 for Christmas so she can read the whole thing. She started with #4. Fucking psychotic.
