Gave this another three spins this afternoon. I liked it from jump but it really does open up on repeat listening. Might have to upgrade my vote from 3 to 4 stars soon...

I understand it's the latter, there's nobody from the 90s band except Gavin.
So it's not the full Bush? That's disappointing.

They say in a Pearl Jam forum
Most people under 35 likely aren't aware of either, honestly, though, I'd say PJ has had a more consistent career in the public eye.
Not a competition, though...I genuinely didn't know they were still around.
What bands from that era are bigger than PJ? Foo Fighters for sure. U2. DMB. Green Day. Not Bush imo.
Neither Foo Fighters or DMB or even Green Day are anywhere near the real dimension Pearl Jam has at least in Europe…I dont consider U2 from the same “era”. The others are rock bands), U2 and PJ are rock institutions by now.

Bush is just a novelty act by now.

I get the impression that Foo Fighters are currently a lot bigger than Pearl Jam. They have many more monthly listeners on Spotify too.

I dont measure a band popularity at any given moment just for Spotify or Apple Music charts or whatever… The Foos may have a more pop appeal, but its also much less of a stable audience than the really big ones! Over time that counts…Pearl Jam will stand the test of time has one of the biggest rock bands ever, I dont think the Foos will achieve that.

Fashion changes, tastes change, but the big ones stay and become relevant again and again, I mean kids playing Last of Us, or watching the series may be inclined to discover the band making it relevant again, same thing with Ed playing songs with Post Malone and stuff like that, new artists and influences make old ones relevant for a new generation.

I really dont think the Foos have remotely the same relevance or influence, then, now or in the future. I am saying this in a worldwide view, cant speak for how it is solely on the US.

Dave has a place in the music history, not the Foo Fighters.

Nobody will be remembered, in the way that you mean. A hundred years from now, the Beatles will be history book material. Little else.

Im not saying that in the “history of a hundred years from now”…and even it is…Foo Fighters wont be on that book, well maybe a footnote
