Chicago 2016 reference on John Oliver last night. John even sang Alive.

Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

Was listening to Double J’s Big Day Out podcast. They were talking about how close they were to securing Pearl Jam for 2001. They were like a week out from announcement when Roskilde happened, and Pearl Jam pulled out. They had to scramble for a quick, last-minute replacement headliner. They ended up with Limp Bizkit, and someone died during their set. Sick irony.

I didn't see anything here but Ed played an event last week in Las Vegas. It apparently was a private event for a tech company but with a portion of the proceeds going to a teenage cancer fund and EBRP.
For the record this appears to have been the set list.

I'd go with the former.

When Ed leaves the band, Mayer will leave Dead & Company and tour with Stone, Jeff, Mike, and Adam Levine as drummer under the name Pearly Jam

saw a headline the other day that Eddie has cancer and it was just an article about the benefit. I'll let you guess where the headline came from.
