Took my little siblings to see Frozen. Fucking beautiful. Loved the hell out of it, especially the subversion of conventional Disney fairy-tale tropes. The animation was so good.

When I first saw the previews for this I thought there was no way this did well in U.S. box offices.

Good story though, I had never heard that fable before.

I'd go see it if it was playing near me, just to see if it's really as bad as the critical consensus and box-office disaster seems to indicate. With bombs like this, there's a weird pile-up effect where everyone trips over each other in a rush to outline everything that was wrong with the movie, often disproportionately. It happened with Lone Ranger too.

Dallas Buyers Club. Wonderful. McConaughey was amazing and deserves an Oscar. And it's too bad Leto insist on focusing on that fucking terrible band instead of acting. Even Jennifer Garner, who I normally hate, was great.

I thought 47 Ronin looked fun based on the trailer.

We saw this last week, too, and then went on a kids' movie spree:

Rio: A-
Frozen: B+
Walking With Dinosaurs: D

Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom - pretty good, although they tried to squeeze too much in and just dusted over many crucial parts

It was enjoyable. But like Jorge said, once a movie like that gets a bad review, it snowballs. The action was fun, the dialogue wasn't awful, and Keanu was bearable.

The Wolf Of Wall Street.

Awesome. He is still the best director from his generation, by far. And Di Caprio is the best actor from this time.

I watched Mannequin a couple weeks ago. When I was in middle school, I spent a lot of time daydreaming about that happening to me. I have never had a wank while watching that movie, but I am sure I had many because of it.

imo the movie is kind of aimless and not very compelling during the first half. it only really picks up at the qualludes scene and there I think it becomes a pretty great film. honestly thought dicaprio was not believable at points, but again I forgot all about that at a point.

I loved it. I think its the first movie from Marty were the main character does not need or seek redemption at all.
Di Caprio was pretty awesome for me...at this point i dont care if De Niro comes back to work with Marty as long Leo is around.

Frozen. Thought it was pretty much the most fully realized Disney animation feature since their excellent run in the 90s. The pacing was great. I liked all but one of the songs. And the "crazy sidekick" character was funny without being annoying. Also, because of the winter theme of the movie, the animation kinda had a unified "look" to it that I loved. This is like 3 or 4 decent animated features in a row from Disney. The world is right again.

Inside Llewyn (sp?) Davis. Loved it.

American Hustle

Was pretty good...but whenever he gets mad, all I can hear in my head from Christian Bale is "OHHH GOOOOOD FOR YOUUUU"

also, I'm impressed with any movie that can make me think Jennifer Lawrence is completely unattractive while simultaneously making me want to bang Amy Adams

Watched Insidious: Chapter 2 last night. It was alright - certainly not as good as the original, but it was watchable.
