You can make fun of me all you want. But McNally was a tremendous and important voice -- and especially so during the AIDS epidemic. He's one of my community's best and most valuable voices. His passing is sad. And made tragic by the fact that, though 81, it was still too soon. He didn't need to die from complications of COVID-19.

I hope it doesn't happen to someone who means anything to you.
