I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Durds is one of my all time favourite rm people but I’ll never take pod recommendations off him ever again after the Dax Shepard debacle.

Do you like Reply All at all, Trag?
This one might be right up your alley. It's about a guy trying to track down a song that he remembers but no one else knows. It's awesome.

I've really enjoyed a handful of the single-topic episodes, but I don't really like the catch-all episodes where they respond to listener mail and whatnot. Just grabbed this one because it sounds great.
I think you'll dig it.

I haven't listened yet, but it's getting a ton of hype. Apparently it's about a search for a song forgotten to time or something. Up my alley but I just haven't had a chance yet.

Similar to this episode's theme, I've had one or two measures of a specific synthesizer melody playing in my head clear as day since around 1997. I swear it's part of a song that was popular on the radio at the time, but I can't construct the rest of the song. Whatever song you name, that won't be it. It's maddening.

The instrument sounds soft, analog and kind of synthy. Almost like a Stereolab song. Except Stereolab was never a thing on my local radio. Slowish tempo. Maybe mid tempo.
Again, circa 1996-1997.

Was that really news to anyone?
Record companies for decades, would sign bands with the intention of never doing anything wth them at all but just to use them as channels for tax write offs. It’s always happened.
