someone should photoshop the band as TNG cast (ed must be bald)... and throw some cats in there and some guy named rod

Beverly Crusher was hot. That one season when she got replaced was a low mark for the series.

It's for charity though.
A close friend of the Pearl Jam family (Denise) has been bravely battling a diagnosis of brain cancer. Our friends at Seattle-based glassybaby have generously dedicated 10% of the sales from their handblown glass votive "belle" to Solid Tumor Translational Research in honor of our friend and Babes Against Brain Cancer.

Help us help Denise and others battling brain cancer by purchasing 'belle' here.

In addition, glassybaby named another of their votives after the Pearl Jam song, 'Given to Fly' with 10% from the sale of each donated to Pearl Jam's Vitalogy Foundation to support the band's giving.

"He floated back down 'cause he wanted to share his key to the locks on the chains he saw everywhere… a human being that was given to fly" -Pearl Jam

Purchase 'given to fly' here.
should be more than 10%, but that's a different matter

$44 for a candle holder? Am I missing something here? Maybe it comes with a free dog collar.

I've been working hard to develop a ceramic mantelpiece photo display kit, which I have without reason titled Present Tense. It's about $4 worth of product for $37, but 2 and 1/3 percent of after cost profits (once a baseline has been met and after figures have been adjusted to account for market norms) will go towards future Ten Club charity work like Messages to Housebound Johnny and Lawsuits Against Shoewreckers. It really is a piece of shit product. I think you'll like it.

Get your wallets ready. Links, like the rest of us, will be coming soon

I looked over the glassybaby website, I can't find any decent description of what these things are or why they would be worth this much. Even if you take out $4 for charity, it's still a $40 candle. Shit, it might not even be a candle. I think it's just a glass holder. They all look very nice, but who the fuck has $40 to drop on one candle holder?

I'd like to imagine that a lot more than $4/glass goes to charity, but I can't tell.

It's hand blown which makes it more expensive than regular glass but not that much and it's not a particularly complex design like virtually everything google image search for "hand blown glass" will show you. Still should have been more than 4$/candle holder. But it seems it's how glassbaby works by default looking at their site. There are more glasses for different causes all at 44$ with 10% going to the specific organisation.

Yeah, so I guess I'm off topic, b/c it's not really a complaint about Pearl Jam.f

I don't know why I'm complaining at all. There are millions of things in the world that cost more than I think they're worth, and people still sell them.

so if I am reading this correctly, the summary is that $44 could be better spent by:

donating $20 to the organization directly
spending $19 on a bottle of vodka
buying a $4 candle at CVS
lighting the candle
drinking the vodka
paying McP $1 to smell his penis
smelling McP's penis
smelling the candle
determining which smells better
posting about it on RM
