Brutal. Loved it. Mulligan deserves at least a nomination. The movie also looks gorgeous.
I'm so excited too see this.
come back with your review
Oh definitely
Yeah I'm itching to see this one too, though not enough to pay the $20 streaming fee at the moment.

Never Rarely Sometimes Always.

My wife was underwhelmed but fuck I loved this. The scene with the counselor was astonishing. I thought it was excellent.

I watched "Hunted" on Shudder - I don't remember having so many wildly conflicting thoughts about a movie; an incredibly confusing experience, but it had some great moments

Worth it? I was mildly interested when it came out, but that's quite the commitment.

Nomadland.

Yeah, i mean i liked it enough but there was absolutely no element of surprise with this movie. The framing and the photography reminded me of Malick sometimes, Mcdormand is good but at the same time, she can do this stuff in her sleep....the score was horrible, forcing you to feel sad about it...violins and piano while you see people work LOOK, LOOK THEY ARE WORKING FEEL SAD ABOUT IT.

It felt super weird.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Absolutely. I put it off for a long time because of the length, but you can do three 60-90 minute chunks and the scope really lends itself well to that structure (there's ebbs and flows of action). I was also kind of wary of another Scorsese mob movie, but it's really excellent--like some kind of dark, materialist answer to Forrest Gump's vision of an individual thrown into history. I would say it ranks among Scorsese's best.

sorry if its not the right translation...but those scenes with that music, forcing you to feel those moments were sad, were all you see is people working, trying to earn a living...felt like such a social class prejudice.
