Scream 3.

The worst of the franchise, no question about it. Its meta comedy is not funny, the movie references are super weird, it mostly doesnt work but there are some pretty cool scenes, the legacy trio is great on this one and its still an enjoyable movie.

Kinda ahead of the me too movement with the whole Maureen Prescott backstory.

Yeah, i mean i liked it enough but there was absolutely no element of surprise with this movie. The framing and the photography reminded me of Malick sometimes, Mcdormand is good but at the same time, she can do this stuff in her sleep....the score was horrible, forcing you to feel sad about it...violins and piano while you see people work LOOK, LOOK THEY ARE WORKING FEEL SAD ABOUT IT.

It felt super weird.
ugh i'm going to hate this aspect
yeah, i hated it. Because it felt so class.
How do you mean?
sorry if its not the right translation...but those scenes with that music, forcing you to feel those moments were sad, were all you see is people working, trying to earn a living...felt like such a social class prejudice.
Hmm. I can see what you mean in theory but I haven't seen the movie so I can't really comment yet. I do think having to sell your labor in order to not die is sad! But I also think what you're describing sounds heavy handed and condescending. I'm looking forward to seeing it when it's available to stream so I'll have to report back

of course its a hard life but violins? that piano...its all so miserable its super condescending. Its just people working and living and doing the best they can.

Would you believe that 24 hours after saying I wouldn't spend the $20 I spent the $20? Well worth it, so fucking good.

yeah, it is. I love how hard it is with the characters...the male ones, even the supposedly cool boyfriend. She is also shown as a sociopath. Just loved it.

Also, looks wonderful.

Yeah I loved the color palette, everything was so slick. My only complaint is that the idea that it's set in Ohio is absurd, it's like one of those maps where a European tries to label all 50 states and ends up with six different Dakotas. That's fucking California!

"Dont tell a soul"

With Rainn Wilson.

The preview intrigued me and I always like seeing someone like Rainn Wilson take on a more serious role.

The movie was interesting. I didnt know what the movie was attempting to be or what genre/box to put it in. According to reviews after I watched it was meant to be a dark comedy. Some ridiculous dialogue at times, but i never thought it was meant to be a dark comedy.

Overall i enjoyed it though. Pretty breezy run time.

Pretty much anything Sam Raimi directs is worth a watch. I haven't seen this since its original theatrical run, but I remember enjoying it a lot. And it definitely has some typical Raimi camera work.

There is a cowboy movie called the Quick and the Dead with Sam Elliott that I like better than the Raimi one.

King of Staten Island. Judd Apatow makes it better than should have been but also a good 30-45 minutes longer than it should. Pete Davidson was pretty good playing a version of himself; I generally like him on Weekend Update but his acting seemed nonexistent in sketches. He’s got some real actors around here who help carry him through. Burr surprised me. It has some funny lines & bits but it meanders. The final act is pretty good though, giving Buscemi a chance to shine in a scene after not doing much else in the movie. Good enough watch on a winter’s night.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.
