Re: Dance of the Clairvoyants
The first few times through for me i felt like there were a few quick spots where he didnt sound so great, but it must have just been something i was worried about so nitpicked because i cant even remember what parts they were. He sounds so goodBirds in Hell wrote:I just really, really like Ed's vocals in this song.

It's refreshing to have Vedder as the MVP for a song. I know it was a collaborative effort, but his vocals and lyrics are on point here.

The sleeping giant, old man still has it. I hope they get a Grammy. Given the reaction Ament had to the one they got for art, I bet at this point in their career, they would appreciate a Grammy for a song or album.

I've only listened to this once in over a week. RIP Pearl Jam.

I went three days without listening to it, then put it on repeat while shoveling over the weekend. So much better on headphones.

Re: Dance of the Clairvoyants
Gotta say...I haven't grown tired of this one yet.
I'd say it definitely has more staying power than any single of theirs in recent memory and probably going back as far as at least "World Wide Suicide" or even "I am Mine".

Re: Dance of the Clairvoyants
I just visited the Pit and its new design confirmed for me that I'm quite impressed with the general art direction / aesthetic for this album and, hopefully, this era of Pearl Jam; it doesn't look visually phoned in to me, like Backspacer, Lightning Bolt and (to a lesser extent) S/T did; I hope the direction of the album itself is so cohesive and sure of itself

Re: Dance of the Clairvoyants
yup, I kind of dug the S/T visual aesthetic (the portraits were a bit hokey) but to explain why would take a defensive essay haha

I got to test drive it on the road at high volume this past weekend.scrub12 wrote:I went three days without listening to it, then put it on repeat while shoveling over the weekend. So much better on headphones.
Definitely still dig the song, but agree that it's much better on headphones. And since I know jack shit about actual audio stuff, the fact that I'm appreciating the headphone experience only heightens my album excitement.
