I'm actually not totally against violent protest, as long as its targeted correctly. I more or less think burning down that Minneapolis police precinct was fine. It's when they move on to burning small business, blocking traffic, attacking random people, looting just to get free shit, ACAB bullshit, etc. that I start calling for camps to put them in. And most of the rioting in the pacific northwest has nothing to do with George Floyd and everything to do with ideological brainwashing, so of course I'll say fuck those guys.

1,2, and 5 would need the acquiesence of the police union. How do we get these things into union contracts in the face of intransigent unions?

Maybe if police departments started getting refunded?

Rule changes under threat of mass layoffs sounds like something that might garner sympathy from other public sector unions.

Allowing the protestors to burn that police station was what set the cultural and behavioral precedent for everything that followed.
